What is an Upgrade Item in World of Warcraft?
Upgrade items are items that can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets to increase their stats. It is obtained by completing high-level keystones dungeons.
Trainers will require an upgrade in order to evolve Porygon's final evolution, Porygon2. However, they cannot grab one by spinning PokeStops and Gyms; these special evolutionary items have a low drop rate.
Components
In the field of computer technology the term "upgrade" refers to a replacement of software or hardware with a version that provides new functions or features. Upgrades are generally performed to make a computer system faster and more reliable, or capable of handling greater quantities of data. Hardware upgrades include hard disk drives and motherboards. Upgrades to computers must be compatible with the specifications of the computer being upgraded.

They are excellent for maximizing a character, as they're relatively cheap to buy but they're not able to be combined with other experience modifiers.
Infusions can be added to legendaries and non-ascended armor as well as other non-legendary items. Glyphs are a great method to improve your equipment, but they aren't always easy to obtain and use. The best way to make sure that you get the most out of your glyphs is to upgrade them regularly. Some dropped items have the default glyph, which will automatically upgrade whenever you improve the item. However, this only applies to the original enchantment, not the glyph created manually on the item. Glyphs that are automatically upgraded have a higher ranking over the glyphs you manually created.

Rerolling
